The Dallas Arboretum is one of the most beautiful places to visit in Dallas any time of year. There’s just something special about spending time at the Arboretum during the Christmas season. The thought of Christmas spurs so many different memories and traditions for families all over the world. One of the things that I remember most about Christmas when I was a child, was getting out the Nativity scene and placing it out on the table for all to see during the holidays. I would look so forward to getting out all the little figurines of Mary, Joseph, baby Jesus and the animals, dusting them off and waking them up from their slumber from somewhere in the attic amongst all the other decorations.
This year, you too can instill a love for the Nativity Scene in your hearts and those of your children by visiting the “Artistry of the Nativity” featuring hundreds of Nativity scenes from around the world. The Dallas Arboretum will be home to this exhibit each and every Saturday and Sunday during the month of December. There will be special activities from noon to 4 p.m. each day, including photo ops with Santa, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Frosty the Snowman and so much more. Holiday teas (reservations are required) and the 15 Dale Chihuly glass installations throughout the gardens are among the other attractions still available for viewing as well.
There are many, many ways to celebrate the love and peace we all feel during the holiday season.
