Most of us know the joy and happiness that this time of year brings. The anticipation of all the wonderful holiday happenings, the lights, and the Christmas music make us giddy with excitement. Unfortunately, that is not always the case for lots of little children in the DFW area. This Saturday, December 8, 2012, from 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m., 25 Dallas and Fort Worth food trucks are gathering at the corner of Elm St.and Gaston Avenuein Deep Ellum for a massive toy drive for the Dallas Fort Worth Chapter of Toys for Tots. Those of us who have children, know the joy of seeing our little ones faces on Christmas morning when they open their gifts from Santa. Wouldn’t you like to be the one who gives that special gift to a child in need this year?
Over twenty United States Marines will be on hand to take toy donations and guests are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy for a needy child. Of course, Santa will be available for pictures in addition to live music, bounce houses, and over 50 vendors for holiday shopping. Students all over the Dallas area have been collecting toys at their respective schools and are excited to bring them to the event with their families.
Did I mention there will be over 25 food trucks on site including Rock & Roll Tacos, Rockstar Bakeshop, Easy Slider Truck, Ssahm BBA, Gepetto’s Pizza and so much more. At least you know you won’t go hungry!!!
The true joy of Christmas is giving. Lets all join together and make this a year that so many needy children will never forget. It just takes a little time and a little effort to buy one more gift and bring it on out this Saturday for a great cause.
